The "Mulch Volcano" Is Hurting Your Trees — Here's the Fix

Post Copy

Mulch piled thick against the trunk looks tidy but causes real damage. Fungal rot, girdling roots, insect access right at the base of the tree.

The fix: pull mulch back several inches from the trunk. Two to four inches deep, spread out toward the drip line. The trunk base should be visible.

Small correction, big difference for long-term tree health. Link in bio if your trees need a checkup.

Image / Media Suggestion

Before/after showing a "mulch volcano" corrected to a proper mulch ring, or a clear close-up of trunk base improperly buried in mulch. This is a highly shareable educational visual. Authentic North Atlanta photos strongly preferred.
