Families researching around-the-clock home care often encounter two terms used interchangeably: 24-hour care and live-in care. They are not the same, and the difference matters significantly for clients with complex or nighttime care needs.
Live-in care means a caregiver is present overnight but is entitled to a rest period. This works well for clients who are stable through the night and only need occasional assistance. 24-hour care means caregivers rotate in shifts, so someone is awake and actively available at all times, which is the appropriate choice for clients with fall risk, nighttime disorientation, or frequent repositioning needs.
At Advantage Private Home Care, our care coordinators help Metro Atlanta families evaluate which model actually fits their loved one's situation. We have provided both live-in and 24-hour care across 35 counties since 2005, with state-verified CNAs under RN supervision.
Advantage serves Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Tucker, Chamblee, Stone Mountain, and communities throughout Metro Atlanta.
