Not every tree with a structural concern needs to come down. In many cases, tree bracing and cabling is the right answer, and it's a service more Berks and Chester County property owners should know about.
Cabling installs high-strength cables between major limbs to redistribute weight and reduce the risk of branch failure during storms. Bracing uses threaded rods to stabilize co-dominant stems or crotches with structural cracks. Both techniques extend the life of trees with significant value to a property, whether a mature shade tree, a landmark specimen near the house, or a tree with sentimental importance.
These are not DIY repairs. The installation points, cable angles, and hardware specs require trained judgment to get right. Done correctly, cabling can add years of safe life to a tree. Done incorrectly, it creates a false sense of security while the underlying problem keeps developing.
Arbor Max assesses bracing and cabling candidates as part of our standard tree evaluation for properties across Reading, Montgomery, Lehigh, and surrounding PA counties.

Authentic job photo preferred: a tree with installed cabling hardware visible, or a crew member working on a cabling installation. Close-up of the cable hardware on a large mature tree reads as technical and credible. Before/after showing a split-crotch tree that was preserved rather than removed is highly effective if available.
