The Gear Checklist Every ArborSafe Crew Runs Through Before a Climb

Post Copy

Before anyone on the ArborSafe crew heads up into a tree, there is a gear check that happens every single time, no exceptions. Climbing line, harness, carabiners, and helmet all get inspected for wear before the first foot leaves the ground, and it is treated as routine, not optional.

Tree work carries real risk, and the equipment standards that ISA Certified Arborists and Tree Workers train on exist because the margin for a gear failure fifty feet up is zero. A frayed line or a cracked carabiner that looks fine at a glance is exactly the kind of thing an inspection catches before it becomes a problem.

It is a small, repetitive habit that does not make for exciting conversation, but it is one of the biggest reasons ArborSafe has been able to do this work safely in the Treasure Valley for over 26 years.

Do you have a routine or checklist you rely on for something safety-critical in your own work or hobbies?

A photo of climbing gear laid out for inspection, or a crew member checking equipment before a climb on a real job site. No individual crew members should be named in the post copy. Authentic gear and equipment shots build credibility more than posed photos.
