From a Warped, Faded Deck to a Full Composite Rebuild: A North Georgia Before and After

Post Copy

This deck had done its job for close to two decades, but years of Georgia sun and humidity had left the boards warped, splintering, and faded well past the point of a simple refinish. The homeowners were ready for something that would actually hold up long term.

We rebuilt it top to bottom with composite decking, which meant a fresh structural inspection of the framing underneath before a single new board went down. What looked fine from the surface actually needed some reinforcement, which is common on decks this age.

The finished space handles Atlanta summers without fading, warping, or the yearly staining routine the old deck demanded. Sometimes what looks like a cosmetic problem is really a structural one waiting to be found.

Do you know how old the framing underneath your deck actually is?
