July 4th and dry conditions: why fireworks season is one of the riskier weeks for trees near structures in York and Baltimore Counties

Post Copy

With the Fourth of July coming up and much of the region running dry, this week is worth a quick look at the trees near your home. Dry conditions combined with airborne embers from backyard fireworks or neighborhood displays create a real risk of ignition in dead wood, accumulated leaf litter, or dry brush around the base of trees.

Overhanging branches near rooflines are a year-round concern, but they become more relevant this time of year. Dead wood in the canopy — branches that didn't leaf out fully or have visible dieback — is the most combustible material on your property. It's also the material most likely to fall during summer storms, which are common in Baltimore County and York County from late June through August.

If you've been meaning to get an inspection done before summer really heats up, this is a good week to make the call. Our team offers same-day scheduling for emergencies and works around your schedule for planned work. Getting dead wood cleared before a holiday weekend is a straightforward job that makes a real difference.

Have you noticed any large dead branches in the trees closest to your house this summer?

Authentic photo preferred: dead branches visible in the canopy of a tree near a home, or a crew member removing a dry/dead limb with a roofline visible in the background. If available, a before/after showing cleared dead wood near a structure is an ideal format for this post. Real job documentation outperforms stock.
