Storm-Damaged Limbs: When to Call a Professional and When It Can Wait

Post Copy

After a summer storm moves through the Roanoke Valley, not every broken limb needs an emergency call, but some do. Knowing which is which helps homeowners make the right decision quickly instead of guessing.

Call right away for anything hanging over a roof, driveway, or path, any large limb with visible cracking near the trunk, or a tree that has shifted or lifted soil at its base. These situations can get worse quickly and pose a genuine risk to people and property.

Smaller broken branches caught in the upper canopy, minor bark scrapes, or a tree that simply looks stressed but is otherwise intact can usually wait for a scheduled visit rather than an emergency dispatch.

When it's unclear which category a situation falls into, a quick professional assessment is worth more than assuming either way. We handle both emergency response and scheduled storm damage assessments throughout the Roanoke Valley.
