What Happens Before the First Cut: The Safety Check Every Crew Runs on Every Job

Post Copy

The part of a tree job that homeowners see least is often the part that matters most. Before any equipment starts up, the crew walks the site together to confirm the plan.

That means checking for power lines and structures in the drop zone, confirming ground crew positioning and communication signals with anyone working aloft, and reviewing the specific hazards of that tree, whether it is a lean, a weak union, or nearby property that needs protecting. Every job gets this same coordination, whether it is a single limb trim or a full removal.

It is not the most visible part of the work, but it is the part that keeps a routine job routine.

Have you ever watched a tree crew work and been surprised by how much coordination goes into it before the chainsaw even starts?
