Summer storm prep for Metro East Illinois properties: what to check before the next system moves through

Post Copy

Strong summer storms hit Metro East Illinois regularly, and the trees that cause the most damage are usually ones that were already compromised before the weather arrived. Saturated soil, existing trunk cracks, overextended limbs over rooflines, and previous storm damage all increase the risk significantly.

Before the next system moves through, walk your property and note any large branches hanging over the house or utility lines, any trunks with visible splits, and anything that has shifted or leaned noticeably after recent rain. If something looks different than it did a few weeks ago, that's worth getting eyes on.

Riverbend Outdoor Services provides free estimates throughout Moro, Bethalto, Edwardsville, Alton, Wood River, and the Madison County area. We're available 24/7 for storm emergencies and have been serving Metro East Illinois properties since 2007. Licensed, insured, and BBB Accredited.
