After a tree comes down, the stump is easy to ignore. It's not blocking the driveway, it's not hanging over the house, and it's just sitting there in the yard. The problem is that it doesn't actually stay just sitting there.
An unground stump continues to spread roots outward for years. Those roots can crack sidewalks and driveways, disrupt underground drainage lines, and create raised areas in the lawn as they decay unevenly. The stump itself becomes a magnet for carpenter ants, termites, and wood fungi that can spread to nearby living trees. In a wooded yard in Kernersville, Winston-Salem, or Greensboro, that last part is worth taking seriously.
When Spartan grinds a stump, we work below grade to take out the crown and the upper root mass. The result is a level, clean area ready for grass, mulch, or landscaping, with no tripping hazard and nothing left to attract insects or spread fungal decay. The chips can be removed or worked back into the soil depending on what the customer wants.
If you've got a stump on your Piedmont Triad property that's been sitting since a removal, it's worth getting rid of it the right way. Do you have a stump on your property right now that you've been putting off dealing with?

A before/after pair: the stump before grinding and the level, restored ground after. Alternatively, a close-up of the grinder working, or a clean finished area where a stump used to be. Authentic job photos strongly preferred over stock.
