A major storm system is expected to push through central and south Texas this week, and while San Antonio sits on the southern edge of the most intense activity, the area is still in the forecast zone for heavy rainfall and gusty winds through Wednesday and Thursday.

San Antonio's native trees, including live oaks, cedar elms, and mesquite, can carry significant weight when in full leaf, and that weight becomes a problem when wind and rain hit together. Trees that are still stressed from last summer's heat, or those with unmanaged growth, are worth checking now.

Texas Tree Authority ISA-certified arborists are available for assessments and emergency response across San Antonio and surrounding areas. Call 210-251-4232 to schedule a look, or use that number if a tree comes down this week.

If you have live oaks or other large trees close to your home in San Antonio, when was the last time you had a professional take a look at them?

An authentic photo of an ISA-certified arborist assessing a large live oak in a San Antonio residential yard works best here. Crew-with-equipment photos on recognizable San Antonio-area properties are a strong second choice.

The closing question invites readers to share a personal experience with storm damage or property preparedness, which generates story-style comments rather than one-word answers. This type of personal response is what Facebook’s algorithm rewards most heavily from local service business pages.
