Wilting by mid-afternoon? Your tree is telling you something.
July heat in the Tennessee Valley pushes young and newly planted trees hard. Curling leaves, scorched edges, and early leaf drop are all signs a tree is losing water faster than its roots can pull it up.
The fix is not more frequent watering. It is deeper watering. A slow soak at the base once or twice a week beats a daily sprinkle that never reaches the roots.

A close-up of heat-stressed leaves with browning edges, or a slow soaker hose at the base of a young tree. Real local examples work better than stock.
